I ended up asking Kenny, the young minister at the church, if it would be okay for me to sleep inside the church. He made a phone call to check with another church elder and then came back and said it was okay. It's your Ted a bathroom with a shower a full kitchen and a room with couches, one which folded out into a bed. It was a nice situation! In the morning Kenny came back and gave me a lift back into The next town of Angel Fire, where I could purchase replacement phone charging cable. And he brought me back to the church and I put a small charge into my phone which was dead, and soon begin pedaling. The mountain range to the east looked formidable, and I thought I was in for a long morning of climbing. Turned out I'll head to climb 700 feet. After that it was mostly downhill to those beautiful mountains. :) I reached the town of Cimmaron, New Mexico in the afternoon and I could see that my time in the mountains come to an end. The road that I was I'm going through the planes was beautiful, wide open and rolling, with very little traffic. I rolled into the town of Springer, New Mexico around 5:30 PM, and hit the local grocery market. After lingering in the downtown long enough to eat an ice cream bar, picked up my remaining groceries and got back on the bike. My plan was to get about 10 miles outside of town and find a place to wild camp for the night. After about 5 miles I stood up out of my saddle and noticed that my bicycle was behaving funny. Then I looked down and noticed that made bike tire was going flat. Good thing that there was a spot that I wanted to check out for camping right there. So here we go I get to repair my first flat of this trip. I went 1600 miles with no flats. :)
