A race against thunderstorms! Home . . . to Cloverdale to Lawrence to Thorn to Schick to Covington to Fox to Madsen to Kuhn to Lies to [West Branch Bike Trail] to Schick to Bartlett to [Wilcox Trail] to Newport to Stearns/Greenbrook to Arlington to Catalina to Arlington to [trail] to Indigo to Cloverdale . . . to home. I started my ride at 2:45 p.m. and ended around 4. Skies began as partly sunny with temperatures in the upper 80s and light winds. However, a line of fast-moving thunderstorms swept in, darkening the western sky for the last 2/3 of my ride. I started hearing thunder around Greenbrook and County Farm Roads and by the time I had turned onto Arlington, winds had become gusty. Skies had become quite dark, and I could have used some lights for my bike. The rain started falling as I crossed from the Indigo path onto Indigo Court. As I raced down Cloverdale, moderate to heavy rain began to fall and leaf clusters were being torn from trees all around me. It was good to get home!
