Variation on Pedaling Paths for Independence

I wanted to ride the Pedaling Paths route but didn't want to drive to Linden to start there. So, Monica agreed to do a variation on a theme. We started where the town of Eugene used to be. Because there are very limited food/drink/restroom locations on the original route, we added a trip into Valley Springs and cut out the section that would take us to Linden. Still got the distance we were looking for.

Monica is a trooper. In spite of headwinds; in spite of a gravel section; in spite of a lot of climbing; in spite of steep climbs; in spite of heavy traffic for two miles on Hwy 26, she maintained a positive attitude and was happy with the ride. We did have a sunny, relatively warm day and saw wildflowers already blooming.

    Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
