Departed Kevin & Sandy Collins' home in Hiawatha, KS at 9:52am. Headed toward St. Joseph, MO, just across the Missouri River. Stopped at the Pony Express Cafe for lunch & a latte after 38 miles. End up taking a nap after the food and caffeine on a couch in the cafe. Started pedaling again around 3:30pm. Took my time somewhat wondering through St. Joseph. I still had about 39 miles to get to my WS hosts' house north of King City, MO. Arrived at Danny & Susan Lewis' home around 7:20pm. Danny was incredibly attentive to all my needs; feeding me a delicious meal from leftovers from a potluck dinner that they had just attended. After dinner we chatted while soaking out in the backyard in the hot tub. Susan came home from a meeting while we were soaking and after the hot tub, the three of us enjoyed relaxed conversation in their living room until 11pm. In the morning Susan was off to work early, and Danny cooked a delicious breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, juices, & coffee. We enjoyed a slow paced breakfast and chatted till 9:30am. Then I started getting ready to ride and Danny prepared to go to his office.
