I had to decide what indoor ride I wanted to do. I didn't feel like getting out today. I chose two maps. One to warm up and the other to ride with a Pace Partner. I chose the Watopia Hilly Route. It had about 358 ft of climbing and 6.1 miles in distance. It turned out to be a perfect warmup ride. I was sweating by the time I finished the ride.
It took me about 20 minutes to complete and I participated in a KOM zone. After that, I chose a Pace Partner ride. Apparently they have two maps. The Marioki Island (sp?) and Watopia. I tried the Marioki Island first. There were about 20 riders. I was hoping for more, so I hopped out and then joined the Watopia C -group Pace Partner ride. As usual, they drop you right in the middle without a chance to warmup first. I did this ride not too long ago. It actually felt more difficult than I remembered. Nevertheless, I got a good workout in. I was having to push it in order to keep up. It was mostly flat. Some undulations here and there. Total elevation gain: 261ft. I'd say I was out of the saddle about 1/3rd of the ride. I decided to keep going till about one hour into the session. I definitely got out of the ride what I was seeking. I tried to stay at the front of the pack. I was able to keep. Towards the end of the ride, I got a call on the phone that I had to answer, so I was riding and talking at the same time. Fortunately, I was able to keep up in the meantime. After the ride was completed, I cooled down for about 4 or 5 minutes. Concentration was good. My attention was focused on the group. Definitely helped. The music was nice too. Balance and form was good. Gear worked flawless. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had about 1/4 of my Gatorade, no water. Ailments, some minor hand numbness. Other notes, there were about 2500 riders today.
