Sierra to Sea

Even though, I didn't complete my tour as planed and had to turn around and go back the same way, I still had a lot of fun and great memories.
I'll be back some other time, from July to September, and try to cross Sierra Nevada all the way.
Once you get to the 2700m elevation and under the Mulhacen summit, road is very soft from the melting snow and becomes hard to even walk. If planning this trip, make sure you leave a lot of time for this section as walk the bike and catch the breath will eat your day quickly.
Staying at Poqueira Refugio will make you lose over 200m of elevation which you have to regain the next day. Better option is continuing to the Caldera Refugio and sleep there. You must plan for food and warm sleeping bag, it is on 3050m elevation.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
