I wasn't quite sure where I was going today. So, I decided to head up OTR and decide from there. I decided to head up the Alpine Forest and then do Tour de Teh (R). The weather is on the cool side. I wore knees and arm coolers. The rationale was that it was going to get warm enough to remove the knee warmers and keep the arm coolers on. Didn't happen, so I just kept the layers on. The legs felt sluggish today. I think I need to put in a recovery ride next time. There was traffic mitigation on the Banducci Wall, so I couldn't get comfortable. That all changed when I reached the Alpine Forest. I was able to relax a bit and settle into a tempo. The miles went quick. I was listening to new music along the way. I think my HR was at around 145-ish BPM when I reached Lemans. From there it was through the backside and to the Banducci Summit. When I got there, I took a few moments to recover. A few minutes later, I let traffic by and headed down the mountain. The return trip through the farmlands was mostly moderate tempo. No red-lining or heroics. I found a porta-potty to conduct a bio break. From there, I made my way to the last climb. I reached Boss Hogs in 1:20 Hours. So, I was able to calculate my ETA back to home to be 35 minutes, or so. I was spot on. The last climb went well. Doing no less than moderate tempo. After making over the summit, I pulled over to swap out the GoPro battery. From there, it was non-stop to home. Route 202 had some traffic mitigation. Concentration was good. The morale was good. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Gear worked flawless. Nutrition was spot on. No hunger signs. I did have a sour stomach on a few occasions. Mitigated by drinking water. Other notes, no other cyclists today. There was a couple running as I was making my way to OTR.
