Great day to get out. Winds were favorable for a Keene n Back ride. Temperature is in the 70's. The legs felt good to start. I made it to the summit in good time. I cruised the downhill. Putting two digs over the risers. I reached the base in about 27 minutes. I was a bit on the impatient side. I was doing my best to keep the stray thoughts from getting the best of me. Nonetheless, I was relieved to reach the base of the climb and get on with business. The miles went fast. The landmarks went quick. I was in the zone most of the way up. My concentration was much better on the way back. The morale picked up from mile to mile of progress. I noticed that I was able to hold 200 watts while seated. Normally this would require an out of the saddle technique. I was doing mostly above moderate tempo. I kept the tempo going over the top, but trying not to red-line it too much. Concentration was not so good on the way out, but much better on the way back. I had a few things to think about, it helped. The music helped too. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some hand numbness while out of the saddle. Gear worked flawless. Nutrition was good. I was a bit queasy on the way down, so I was having to drink more of water than Gatorade. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
