Plateau Passage - Days 5 and 6

Day 5 was pretty easy with a highway climb to 10,000ft. The Virgin River Rim Trail is intended as a highlight of this loop but has not yet been cleared of winter deadfall in most places so we missed a lot of it. Steve broke his front rim on a log and we got a new wheel delivered by Uber from Cedar City in under 3 hours!! Today we got up to the rim of Bryce Canyon NP after a brutal hike a bike, and had the same problem with blowdowns. Rerouting through an active coal mine was wild and it ended up being a 14 hour day, but with incredible scenery and a bonus trip through the Grand Staircase Escalante NM. This route is turning out to be every bit as adventurous and difficult as advertised!

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
