600/25/6 sprint tri around Crawley K2 leisure centre.
Got lost on the way and almost managed to miss registration. Weather forecast rubbish but pre-race overcast and cool but drizzle only.
Novices swam first, then main wave. I swam at about the right point for my start number was overtaken by 5-6 swimmers. Caught up one only. Put on long-sleeved top and number-belt during long transition which was a good idea.
Bike good but did an extra lap of an early roundabout. No-one caught me and I overtook lots and lots. One crash on turnaround roundabout just in front of me. It was wet and I rode the corners very sedately; first ride in wet on tubs. Lots of little slips but no big ones.
No time to unstrap feet from shoes as usual so just unclipped at dismount line.
Wasted a bit of time in T2 faffing with bike shoes but run went well. Suspect cadence dropped a little as run fairly hilly and almost all off-road but no-one overtook me. Felt like a reasonable pace. Massage post race, got quite cold waiting.
Def something up with waterworks, urgency and frequency+++???
