This was my second trip to the area. Saturday I did some exploration but wasn't able to find Tag #347. It turned out among several hunches I checked, I came ¼ mile away at one of them. I mostly figured it out Saturday evening based on a hint posted that day. I wasn't 100% sure so I drove to the spot to check it out today. When that confirmed it, I drove back down to the trailhead in Lafayette to position my car where I could refill my water bottles with water and ice cubes because of the hot weather. Then I did the ride as planned. The "artistic" arrows actually aren't artwork. This is an almost 100 year old Air Mail Navigation Arrow from the 1920s. Before radio navigation, air mail planes used concrete arrows on the ground to navigate their airways. I hope everyone who attempts this tag will take the hot weather seriously. The forecast has some hot days coming.
