First, corrections: The descent at mile 9.0 and the climb at mile 30.0 is on Julian Trail, not Coastal Trail (RwGPS / my photo descrips are incorrect).
Started at Embarcadero BART at 2:15p. Sunny w/ occasional strong head/tail winds. Rode Stumpy w/ Compass Rat Trap Pass tires (26x2.3"). 50lbs psi for first 15 or so miles, then dropped pressure to 40 or so. Made a noticeable positive difference in comfort, and traction going up down and flats. Compared to riding this w/ my Raleigh 650b bike, I think this bike allowed me to ride more relaxed, confident; all leading up to more fun and energy! Majority of ride is on excellent hardpack w/ frequent shallow gravely sections. Tough climbs, challenging downhills, inspiring amount of beauty and cool to explore so much of Marin Headlands on this route. Took 2 Clif Bars and 3 liters of water, and 2 nuun tablets, which worked perfect. Got back to SF Transbay at 7:15p
