Harpers Ferry to Sky Meadows. Gravel Route North-South

Choice gravel route that samples the rolling hills and gorgeous horse country of Loudon county. A western alternate to Bike Route 1 that starts near Harpers Ferry on the C&O Towpath campground and ends at Sky Meadows campground.

Of Note: It was tough to find a way to cross Rt. 7 and not ruin the gravel. We found that crossing Rt. 7 to the opposing traffic side and then walking our bikes towards the turn off, only about .4 miles. Still. Rt. 7 is a crazy, high speed road and its definitely dangerous. But the shoulders are a full lane, so maybe you're more hardened to 75mph traffic than me! Still worth it- the road up to it is the best.

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
