Last day for bikes only - Going To the Sun road at Glacier National Park opens for cars tomorrow. We took a shuttle from a rafting company outside the park to Avalanche. Mike is training hard, so adjusting the amount of effort I need to match his speed is a huge boon for him. The day was PERFECT! Quite warm so no sleeves or other extra layers needed going down, and very doable going up. The road was closed at Birdwoman Fall, and so many bikers rested with huge disappointment and many began their descent. A rumor proved true - the construction workers opened the road for bicyclists about 20 minutes later. We made it to the top of Logan Pass, had a few minutes to rest, and then smiled nonstop on the descent down the perfectly smooth and rock free pavement. Best conditions in decades of doing this ride.
