Day 11: Qualicum Bay> Qualicum Beach>Parksville>Nanoose Bay>Lantzville>Nanaimo

Day 11: Qualicum Bay> Qualicum Beach>Parksville>Nanoose Bay>Lantzville>Nanaimo

NO RAIN. Mostly sunny. Perfect riding weather.

Mini breakfast at Tam’s takeout - Nice folks. Cris showed off her bruises from crashing to the patrons. Rode along the 19A local highway some, diverted to some local thru-roads when possible. Breakfast and real coffee in Qualicum Beach; the median age was 66, but lotsa people on bikes! We were the youngsters in town.

Rode on the same 19 (VI freeway) that we rather enjoyed before, but this was super scary with a 2-foot shoulder with 110 kmph traffic. Diverted to a very pleasant logging road, some bike trails, rail trails, very nice. Dinner at Gina’s Mexican restaurant 👍. Water view at Living Tree Campsite with local hard cider and beer 🥂. Success!

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
