Went on solo ride today. Roger is out of comission with some physical ailments. Hopefully he'll be back up and running in a week or two. Today's weather was ABSOLUTELY perfect. The winds were in the favorable direction. I did good time to the top of Banducci, less than 38 minutes. and about 1 hour to SS tunnel. On the return trip, I felt REAL good! I did real strong tempo. The only problem that I had today was the same ailment as the spooktacular ride. My calve muscles started to get sore when I was around the entrance of the farm lands. To mitigate the problem, I dropped my tempo down just a bit. Enough to let my leg to recover. So, by the time I got to the last climb, I was ready to lay the hammer down. And that's exactly what I did. It's days like this that the air feels like your breathing pure oxygen. I was able to keep the hammer down all the way back to the doorstep. So, ailments, of course, the calve soreness, nothing else really. Concentration was good, sporadic lapses here and there, but real good focus on the last 1/2 of the ride. Before I forget, there is still construction going at SS. So, I had a 2-3 minute break. No telling how this would have affected the ride had there been no stopages. Gopro working well, but it was in a new mode that was made available in the latest patch. It was suppsed to incease the quality of the video, but I honestly can't tell the difference. So, I'll keep that feature turned off. Also, because I get more record time with it turned off. GPS working perfectly, no problems there. Bike noises are almost un-noticable. Few squeeks here and there. So, today was one of the fastest rides of this year. Always a pleasure to ride in these conditions!
