I had hoped to make Cadillac today (about 90 miles) and ran out of steam at about 80. Tough first day - the roads out of Charlevoix were constant up/down and some of the climbs were long and steep (Eli I was determined not to walk but alas some of these were like California!). The ride along Torch Lake was nice - I don't know how many miles it runs but seems like forever. After the lake it was a long inland slog along 131 into 12-15 mph headwinds. For some reason northern Michigan doesn't want/need/allow gas stations or convenient stores more than about every 20-30 miles. In 90 degree temps it made staying hydrated interesting.
Tomorrow I get on the White Pine Trail from Cadillac to Gran Rapids. I'm hoping it will give some wind blocking and there will be more places to stop. If not I'm renting a car and goin home!

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Looks like as you were traveling south, my son and I were traveling south. We too the exact same route for this segment. We were traveling from our home (at the time) in Jenison and going to the Mackinaw Bridge. For this segment, were stayed at my in-law's house in Fife Lake. There's a campground there, which I sure you passed at some point or another.
I stopped there! Wasn't far enough for me to stay so kept going
