At least ~halfway w/ Henry & David, then I fell way off the pace w/ 2 abysmal efforts @ climbing into & out of the Bowl. Way not enough miles put in so far in 2022, w/ rides q3wks. Plus sore L arm from shingles vax #2 late Thursday, and about 10 hrs of sleep over the last 3 nights. And sore feet, rear & arthritic hands. At least the bike computer issues somehow resolved & worked seamlessly - until it didn't synch right away w/ Garmin Connect on my phone after the ride was saved, as it did last week. Finally looked it up & turned both phone & Edge off & back on, & came over. Not strong on IT either. But gorgeous day for a long ride, a mix of sun & clouds, not too hot, & ~no wind, just some chill fog in the AM and it spritzed some rain on me between Rocky Gap & Narrows. Henry & David were in beast mode, and I was in measly mouse mode. Got passed by a tractor & hay raker on the way in, & gave up b/c of persistent leg cramps leaving Burkes Garden, so I just walked 75% of it, since I could actually go faster. Ate @ Burkes Garden General Store instead of Matties - was still a terrific burger. Threw out my 5 month goal to tack on all of Lurich Rd to Glen Lyn & back @ the end for a new 1 ride distance PR. Lucky to barely be able to finish the century. Last one back, since I think the 4 in back of me dropped out & SAG'd in. Maybe next year... Sorry I slowed you 2 gentlemen up several times, thought I was stronger. My mileage is better than last years to this point, since the surgery kept me off the bike for >2 & 1/2 months in 2021.
