Lone Grove-McGirr-Elva West Gravel Loop 8-31-22

Checkpoint. Sunny, cool and comfortable temps, 9-10 mph WNW winds with gust up to 17 mph. An absolutely gorgeous day, at least top 10 for the year. Great ride with Jack, fairly hard effort on pretty great gravel conditions. Only short sections of 'heavy' gravel, otherwise more like crushed limestone. About 60% gravel, rest was paved. Good route on some rarely traveled roads out West.

Good pace for a gravel ride, fair amount of climbing. The one mile section of 'wilderness'' farm road on Harter was interesting and pretty difficult. Nice rehydration session at Lodi in Maple Park afterwards.
