Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Went on a solo ride today in the afternoon. The weather was cool, had to wear arm warmers. The wind was unusually calm today. I got to the top of the climb (before the ascent) in about 8 minutes. I cruised the downhill. The ascent was comfortable, as there wasn't any significant head winds. I did good tempo, no heroics, one kicker over the Loop Monument. It was a real good today, no ailments, not even tingling in the hands. Lower back was great, as was my right calve muscle. Concentration was right on, as was balanced. The only other ailment, was when I reached the summit and was on my way back. My chest hurt a little, on the left side. I couldn't tell exactly what it was, but it was a little sore. But, it went away after I approached Weston. GPS is working great, bike was flawless, as was the Gopro. Awesome day today!
