It's the day after Thanks Giving. Great day to get out. Mild winds from the South East. I picked the Alpine Forest. The legs felt pretty good to start. I wore just the right amount of clothing. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had traffic mitigation. Otherwise, went as usual. Near max over the top, but still had some matches to burn. After reaching Arosa, I was able to relax for a few moments and then get into the climbing tempo. It went quick. The morale was good and listening to the music was helpful. After making it to the summit, I took a few moments rest. At about this time in the ride, my stomach was complaining. It turned a bit sour. So, I was having to drink only water from that point. I headed back down the mountain. I'm taking a more cautious approach, by letting traffic by while slowing down. Descending off the Banducci Wall was fun. I didn't get knocked around as the wind wasn't significant. After reaching OTR, I was able to have a bit of fun. The stomach was still sour, so I was conscious about that. I kept the tempo stead, no heroics. After reaching Weston, I shut it down. Concentration was good. The morale was good. I wanted to get out. Nutrition was good, no hunger signs. Ailments, a sore stomach on the last 20-ish minutes of the ride. Not sure what it was, but likely remanence of something reacting to the Gatorade that I was drinking. Balance and form felt good. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw 3 cyclists today!
Other notes, the Garmin ForeRunner 45 watch continues to show consistent readings. Albeit, 3 to 5 BPM below actual.
