It snowed over night. A day for Zwift. I chose the London Hilly Loop. The plan was to do two laps with negative splits. The legs felt ok to start. It took a while to get warmed up. The first time up Box Hill was mostly moderate tempo. Under 3 W/kg most of the time. I kept this tempo to the summit. I had two Holo Replays ahead of me at this point. I reached the summit in around 11 minutes. From there, I made my way back to the start finish. I put in a modest dig through the tunnel riser. The next lap felt better. The legs and lungs were warmed up. So, I was able to start the lap faster. I was ahead of my Holo Replay at this time. I made my way to the base of Box Hill for the second time. I spared no time to ramp up the tempo. I was doing 3+ W/kg most of the time. Out of the saddle for the majority of it. The time went fast. I made it to the summit in about 10 minutes, posting a negative split. I was well within my limit. I headed back to town from there, putting in a strong dig over the tunnel riser. I posted a 90 day PR for the lap. After that, it was cooldown to 112 BPM. Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about, but I was mostly focused on the task at hand. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through about half my Gatorade. No water. Balance and form was good. Ailments, hand numbness while out of the saddle for extended periods. The stomach was sore in the morning. I had to remedy with some Pepto. It was back to normal by the time I hopped on the trainer. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, there were about 2000 riders when I first logged on to this map. I think over 10,000 riders on the Watopia map.
