Great ride in today. Was pleasantly surprised when I first turned on the TV to see the new reporting the temperatures were in the low 50s. The mercury did dip into the 40s by the time I left the house, but a nice long sleeve thermal jersey, vest, and leg warmers were just about perfect.
Continuing to nibble away at Green Valley neighborhoods for Wandrer miles. I guess the construction on Las Vegas Blvd and Pecos has turned into a net positive after all. It's been forcing me to look into new ways to get to work and all the exploration has been pretty fun. Really impressed with the Valley Verde and Arroyo Grande sections north of Paseo Verde. They are super smooth, fast, and put a smile on my face every time I ride them.
Ride home wasn't too bad, but I honestly thought about calling it quits once or twice. Was getting bumped around by some decent wind gusts at the start. Thankfully once I got into some neighborhoods and onto quieter side streets it wasn't nearly as bad.
Really poured it on after crossing St. Rose. I think I need to start stressing my legs more to build gains. I know the best thing would be to start some actual structured training, but I enjoy my commutes too much for that and I have no interest in riding a trainer. According to Intervals I logged my best five minute power of the year so I guess that's something.
Sadly looks like mother nature is putting a damper on more riding this week. Things aren't looking promising for Wednesday. Thursday I'll be driving so I can swing by Pedal and Pour after work to try out the Voler and Adobo Velo kit samples. Friday is breakfast with the kiddo before her dentist appointment. Thankfully, big ride Saturday!
