It's my 50th birthday and the weather is cooperative. Great day for a bike ride. I decided to head out to WS since the wind was from the South East. I decided to play it by ear and see if I could add the Banducci summit to the ride. I wore the standard winter kit minus the shoe covers. I was sufficiently warm. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the end of OTR in good time. The trip to WS was more or less what I expected. A steady and slow march into the wind. After making it to WS, I headed back without stopping. All the while, I was thinking of adding Banducci. I was getting some bio signs, so that was working against me. I was going to make a pit stop in the bushes, but decided to keep going. I was just too reluctant. When I made it back to Banducci, I was feeling good, so I went for it. The climb went fast. There was some traffic mitigation. I don't recall checking the time at the summit, but the GoPro had about 24%-ish battery remaining. Shortly after, I headed back down the mountain. After making it back to OTR, I was able to relax a bit. I pushed over Mariposa and shut it down after reaching the top of Weston. Concentration was good. The morale was good and I had stuff to think about. Gear worked flawless. Ailments were minimal. The joints and muscles were responding well. Nutrition was good. Although, I was getting slight sings of hunger. I went through all of my Gatorade and a few sips of water. Balance and form felt good. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
