Day 1: Over the Golden Gate Bridge, then lunch in Sausalito. After that. . . the hill is a doozy. Oh, wait. It’s a MOUNTAIN! Camp at Olema Campground which is okay. Mostly for RVers, but it's a place to lay your head. There are a few other places, like the Sky Campground, if you want to end with some elevation on a single track.
Day 2: There is a reason why people cycle from North to South! The 30 mph gusts of headwinds with biting rain on the coast were brutal. Easier once you head inland.
Day 3: Hilly but beautiful. Eat lunch at Tomales Bay and stock up at the Tomales General Store and camp again in Olema.
Day 4: A fantastic ride! WELL EARNED after the previous three days! A couple of climbs, but then mostly downhill! The offroad section follows the Bay Area Ridge Trail and has some gravel and single track, but it is mostly downhill and is the best thing in the world! I did it with a fully loaded bike. Not sure if I could do it going the other way! The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge to Emeryville is all on a bike path, so there is no need to ride through the city traffic. This is a lovely ride and a great way to end the trip.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time.
