I decded to do this ride yesterday ,26th , as a present to myself from me . But on that day I was really very tired as I had just cleaned out the cooker and made dinner and other thing which all took time . also Alex + Xiaocui + Freya are not feeling the best , and it was discovered on the monday that they are all suffering from the dreaded Covid . Cormac is now suffering from a sore throat , so a family of sicknesses. I did not have anything to eat or drink when i arrived at Kilcock as i decided to have something on the way , but where ? I had it arranged that I did not go on any of the main roads so therefore no cafes. so i had nothing to eat since I ate my brekkar ar 7.30, and then i had to wait till nearly 1.00PM for my dinner which was lovely by the way . I had that in Edenderry which was not the most exiting of towns on a winters Monday morning. A few miles from Portarlington I decided to adjust the effin Hammerhead but I closed or stopped the effin thing recording that particular ride so i started another one . I suppose in a way the ride was frustrating i a way . Along the canal it was hard going as it was very rough and hard to cycle but it would be lovely in the summer in the good weather. Also I found it very confusing that you had two similar sounding towns , viz. Portlaoise and Portarlington , and also that I had already booked for a rtrain journey to Enfield but yet I was to get off at Kilcock.I find that sort of thing very confusing and frustrating . I should not but .......Apart from all that it was a good cycle but very cold. All in all I did 82.5KM which is a lot ,so does that mean that I will be able to do the 100KM in June? I must remember that this journey was mostly flat and i will have to start going up the mountains more . I suppose the weather is not the best at the moment . ( Good excuse).
