Fuel EX 9.8. Mostly sunny, warm and pleasant humidity, some wind but it was welcome when I felt it. This is a wonderfully designed and maintained bike park. It's all one direction so no need to worry about running into other riders. It would be truly awesome if they changed direction on odd/even days.
I figure with riding each section twice I could easily get in 18-20 miles total and I'll try out that theory tomorrow morning. Trails are mostly intermediate difficulty but nothing I couldn't handle. Some pretty rooty sections and pump-track like sections that are of a very efficient design taking up very little space. Surprisingly there were some hilly woodland sections and some ups and down hillocks.
Trail surface almost exclusively sandy with some great short hills and lots of berms so overall very flowy and pretty fast. I expect tomorrow I'll do a faster average speed with the familiarity that comes with riding multiple times. I think I'll do the whole thing then go over it again from start to finish. It's supposed to rain late morning so I'm hoping to get out to the trail by sunrise.
We're heading to Raleigh tomorrow afternoon for the start of the last leg of the trip. Good timing, as temps are going to drop here and it's supposed to rain all weekend in NC. Ohio weather looks much better for the Easter weekend.
