Given temperatures in the range of 30 to 40 degrees from noon to 7pm, I rode another of the excellent portfolio of rides out of Ride Studio Cafe put together by Pamela B. This one led me through scenic areas, including a completely new-to-me trespassage through the gated Brimstone Estates community. At the halfway point, I went off-route to visit Family House of Pizza (steak sub was tasty but not hefty, and no customers' bathroom); next time I might try Pizza 19 which is on the route. at about the same distance. Next time I would definitely, upon reaching Glezen Road on the return, NOT go R on Glezen, but instead go straight across Glezen onto the (dirt) Hazelbrook, R on (dirt) Lincoln Rd, R on (asphalt) Waltham, then R onto 117 for a short stretch before L on Tower to rejoin the route. I rode the final 2.5 hours of this in the dark at rush hour, and it did not get dicey -- the route was mostly on lightly traveled roads. I improvised the return from the flower pot on Trapelo Rd; I chose to head over the hill and use Mill St which I had missed in the morning when it was blocked by construction.
