I gave up after doing just over 11KM and back again. Very very disappointed , extremely disapointed . I decided that i could not physically do the 100KM which I thought was the right decision to take in retrospect. But still upsetting . I have never being on the road before and Boy was it hilly? I stopped near Glencullen and then decided . If I had known that the pub was so close i would have stuck it out till I hit there and then decided . It was very hot and heavy and I felt a bit weak . As if I wanted to go vto sleep or rest . I was up at 5.50AM which was very early even though it was not that early , considering that I was up 1 hour later when I was working , so it was not really that early . I was sleeping crap for the past few days , so a combination of facts . Another thing I noticed was that I would say that O was one of the oldest there - everybody seemed to me to be in their 20s or 30s so much more agile and capable. I suppose it is embarrasing to tell everybody that I have not gone on the cycle after telling them that I was all set. Hopefully tonight I will be able to sleep better. 17/9/2023 I then had applied to do the Greater Dublin Bike Ride , but I did not do that one either , so I think I will give up on doing these 100KM cycles , not so much but it is that I do not lie the time they start at . Today the Dublin one goes on but I did not as I have just got Pacemaker number two in my chest , and even if the Doctor said it was OK to do it , I would not have as I do not feel too energetic. Also the weather is absolutely crap, not cold but by Jesus is it wet ! Also its about €80 for a cup of tea and a sandwich, so very expensive.
