In which Sonny got a puncture running over a rock just before we rolled into Pleasanton. His sealant struggled to seal so he plugged it and then it seemed to hold. Only later the plug was starting to come out so he replaced it with a bigger plug that eventually popped like a cork on Niles Canyon. Fortunately the next plug held until we got home. On Calaveras we saw a huge group of cyclists riding south as we were headed north. They had SAG and the bottom and the top. At the top they had a Sprinter van towing a porta potty behind it. I stopped to ask what group they were with and the guy's only answer was, "This is just half of us." Yeah! I know! We rode passed the other half Sherlock! Never did find out and we descended to a fierce headwind on the way to lunch. Overall, a pretty good ride. I pushed harder on the climbs even though I was feeling awful at the start of the ride. I've been slacking for such a long time that my max HR and FTP had been dropping and today I got new ones. :) I was playing around with this route since we do it all the time. Going to Coyote Hills and coming back along Shoreline/Bay Trail would make it a century. Bob had to be back early so we'll do it next time I guess. I accidentally set the wrong alarm and woke up too early. I was able to fall back to sleep but then I was pretty lethargic when it was finally time to get up. I didn’t want to leave the house and thought I was late because of when I finally left.
