https://tourdewhatcom.com I had signed up for the 100 mi ride, with a 7:30 – 8:30 window for the start time. My friends with WOWride Cycling Club, with whom I hitched a ride, were all doing the 62 mi ride instead, with an 8:30 – 9:30 start time window. Therefore, I started at 8:29, basically the last one to depart for my route, and effectively joined the mass start for the 62 mi group. I managed to keep up with one of the leading waves of those riders (mostly Team Coastal members) until the second rest stop. Then the course split, and I was riding solo until Lynden. I did pair up for some brief sections (thanks, Vince!), but other than that, it was still mostly a solo effort. Elspsed time was 6h29m. And that concludes this tour of the US!
