What a grand idea! The Park service got this one right. Only buses and bicycles. It’s a true pleasure to have the entire park. Road to yourself. Many people have opted for the freedom of bicycles and rented electric bikes in town for the ride up the canyon. There are bike racks at each trailhead. We locked our bikes up several times, but had some things impacts and left our helmets on the bikes, and never had anything stolen. Not sure what this means, but maybe tourists on buses are honest? We applied to the lottery and got an early morning reservation to hike up to Angels Landing. We were hiking shoes for the ride of the canyon, as it is an easy incline. Then we were comfortable on the hike up to the top of Angels Landing. Despite the lottery, it’s still fairly crowded on top, but traveling along the via ferrata is still an experience.
