Our team consisted, in addition to myself, of Jay Nadeau, Brook Henderson and Paul Tourkin. Paul was having a bad day and was not feeling well; he retired from the ride at the end of the first loop around the Big T's.
We had 13,800' of climbing in the first 117 miles, which included a LOT of relatively flat miles! And then, the shivering began... :-(
I was definitely the weak link, particularly with respect to climbing up to Harwood Lodge (1 mile short of the Baldy ski lifts), but was not too much of a handicap as Jay and Brook climbed at their own pace and had 15 minutes (Brook's estimate) to dry their clothes, etc., before I made it there.
Brook treated us to hot chocolate at the Baldy Lodge on our way down, which was a brief respite from the shivering! (Thank you, Brook!)
I'm estimating that we spend about 4 hrs being too cold; we all were shivering at Harwood Lodge (if not before), and even while eating at Del Taco in Glendora after the slow descent of GMR. The only intermediate relief was the hot chocolate until we finally started rolling at a good speed on the SGRT, when I think we all finally warmed up. I ended up having to stop to shed my rain jacket because I was too hot (at 46F)! LOL. We managed to average over 18 mph for almost 2 hrs over the 34.5 miles we covered on the SGRT; NOT TOO BAD after 15,000' of climbing, and for 12:15 to 2:15 in the morning!

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
