Fuel EX 9.8. Mostly cloudy but warm in the mid 60's, No noticeable winds. Jack and I got a very early start @ 7:00 am and drove down to Peoria to try out a new park for both of us. Some gorgeous scenery, saw only one deer. We were both a bit disappointed as the difficulty level was almost off the charts in some area. I would say all the green trails should be labeled blue and the blue trails should be black. The singletrack was rooty and very rocky as this was an old quarry - we're talking sharp pointy rocks too. Some very tough and twisty climbs as well. We did about an hour riding on the singletrack then jumped over to the Prairie Park and rode on the perimeter Flood Plain road through the woods for the last part. While a beautiful place, I won't be riding there again. It cost $8 apiece to get in and you can't even see the animals from a bike. Might be a cool place for a hike though. After an hour and a half we pick up and grabbed some snackage in Kickapoo then decided to drive over to Kinsey Park nearby so Jack could see the trails and ride a few there before we headed for home.
