Not as warm as the forecast sounded, probably because of the NW wind but once we got moving (and in the woods) it was OK. Really, not bad for mid-November. Rode the Schaeffer trails because we haven't in a lonnnng time and guess what, apparently nobody else is either. Saturday afternoon with temps in the 50s, you'd expect to see lots of riders on the trails. We saw none. Many of the trails clearly have not been used much this fall, as lots of leaves still cover them, even though more-used trails are essentially clear. And there were but a few cars in the parking lot. And for sure, the trails in this long-time park are NOT what is being built today, so called "flow" trails. Lots of roots, more roots and an occasional rock. Did I mention roots? It's way more technically challenging than most of the other stuff in the area even though it was not that way when it was built... 10 to 11 miles in Schaeffer feels like 16 and up on the newer ones in the area. Still, great ride. Deliberately rode the entire Yellow trail because we typically do bits and parts of it though not in a long time. Made it a point to do the Willys Loop in the "other" direction as well because, well, yeah.
