On Sunday morning the kiddo sent me a text that one of her tires was low. I told her to stay home and that I would take a look once I got home. Well she decided to go take a look herself and found a nice nail right in the middle of the tread.
Fast forward to this morning and the two of us head out to breakfast before taking said tire in for repair. We hit the tire shop right as they're opening and they have us squared away in less than 30 minutes. Once home I get the tire remounted and kiss the kid goodbye as she heads off to class. I check my watch and, realizing it's only 9 ish, decide heck with it I'm going to ride in.
The ride in to work started normal enough except for the bare legs and short socks! Then I ran into Anna and Joy enjoying a morning walk along Via Contessa. If it weren't for Joy's distinct ponytail I probably wouldn't have recognized the two of them. I did turn around to go back and we ended up chatting for a bit before they needed to get going. Joy even handed me a dime to contribute to the New Bike Fund she had picked up along the way.
Ride home was awesome. Decided to pack the wool base layer and neck warmer into the pack back. I'm glad I did because if I hadn't I would have been a hot mess in no time.
While riding up Sandy Ridge between Horizon Ridge and Sunridge Heights I got beeped by a little pickup which I recognized as Joseph from over at Swanny's. I did my best to flash him with my headlight. It was another pleasant little surprise to end the day.
Awesome weather to bring January to a close. I wish the legs were feeling a little more lively, but only time of will make that happen. Yeah that's not in the cards.
New bike fund: $52.14 (+$0.10) < Thanks Joy!
