Very well supported ride with no registration fee; I was happy to donate $20. The ride would have been about 95 miles with 9800' plus of climbing. Starting from the parking lot on a bluff above Castaic Lake (in the park, $11 parking), the ride went out Lake Hughes Rd to Elizabeth Lake Road, turned around at the rest stop at Elizabeth Lake, and headed back but continued straight at what became Pine Canyon Rd at the junction with Lake Hughes Rd. Significant climbing on big rollers from there out to a right turn at the Old Ridge Road where we dropped down to the 138 and made a left to Quail Lake. Great food at this rest stop, including a hot porridge with chicken and quail eggs. From there, we headed back the same way we came to Castaic Lake, making a right at Lake Hughes Rd. (no second visit to Elizabeth Lake). My ride was curtailed by 10 miles and about 1500' of climbing when I had my second flat and was sidelined without a spare innertube. The delay prevented me from finishing while it was light, so I accepted a ride back from the SAG vehicle. Francis and his volunteers were very friendly, generous, and did a great job organizing the ride and providing well stocked rest stops and good SAG support.

Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
