Saint Augustine to Brunswick GA

Day 11

New State: GA

Ferry out at Mayport for annual maintenance.
Sean (friend of Chris) drove us around to Yulee from Jacksonville Beach.

Very good day. Except: the ferry at Mayport is out of service for annual maintenance work. The way around by bike is quite long/tedious through city of Jacksonville. However, Chris's vast network of biking buddies turned up that Sean, whom I've actually met, was in Jacksonville Beach at an AirBnB on a work assignment! He alerted us to the ferry outage and offered to drive us around it! Magically we were transported to Yulee. Where we continued our ride 'till nearly sunset to Brunswick.

New State!!!! GA.

Nice trail in Woodbine.

Dollar General in Waverly proved useful.

Long day but lots of progress.
Finished off map 7 of Adventure Cycling Atlantic Coast Route maps, onto a whole new map 6. But: my printed maps are from 2016. There all new entirely different route maps in 2024. (Which Chris has since he bought his before we left). I'm okay though, the .gpx file I have is the up to date route, since I downloaded it just before we left. It's always something.

Hope to make Savannah Thursday night. So as to take short/0 day there Friday. Rain expected.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
