DRT - Half Day FP to Camp Pine Woods Fat Bike Ride 3-02-24

Trek Farley 9.6. Sunny, cool but comfortable - 45 at the start but up to near 60 by ride's end, stout Southerly winds @ 11-13 mph. First time here at the Des Plaines River Trail in a while and first time on the Fat Bike, which is wonderful for trail riding.

Lake County is fixing the trail up nicely although it was pretty soggy in spots after the storm on Thursday. Cook County is doing some work too but it's spotty at best. Saw lots of cyclists - even a few other fat bikes - and plenty of hikers and dog walkers too. Turned out to be a beautiful day.
