2024-04-02 Hike: McDonald Forest to avenge two geocache DNFs and enjoy the sun...

On the last day of the stretch of nice weather, I had a few hours that I wanted to do another McDonald forest hike to avenge two DNFs from my hike a couple weeks ago. Both were found on this trip, natually! I accomplished both; tho I saw 6 folks on this hike, one of those twice, and a second several times.
The weather was turning cool and windy toward the hike; I was happy to be out of the forest when I departed as the winds were picking up. I'm sure there were falling branches; they are called Widow Makers for a reason!

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
