2024-04-24 Hook & Eye gravel, Ballston, Deer Creek Flats, Muddy Valley, etc.

Taking advantage of the last nice day for a while as the weather is turning cool and rainy, I headed into the SW wind for about half of the ride. It was nice knowing I'd be assisted by the breeze during the return trip, and there were several stretches that I rode in silence, hearing only the tires on the road.
I added wind noise blockers to my helmet in an attempt to cut the wind noise across my ears; these work decently as long as I was facing directly into the wind. Turn the head a bit... yep, there's that roar. But all in all, they are a worthy addition, though take a bit of adjustment when putting on the helmet.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
