First ride of the season. organized thru new ETA app "spond". On Monday, since tomorrow the weather doesn't look good. Cool tstart but turned into a lovely spring day. Only the first part to P3 was on bike paths, since there is still snow on the parkways in GP. Roads in terrible shape with huge potholes and grit on the bike lanes (have not been brushed yet). River Road to Wakefield is the worst!. Most people had gravel bikes (my hard tail). Would have been miserable on skinny tires. But as a result, I was dead last in both directions. Lunch at Wakefield bakery. Warm enough to sit outside, although Wakefield still has a more wintery air with quite a bit of snow in the woods and a few chunks of ice on the river. Returned same way. Saw tame lone deer just south of P3. A tiring but rewarding seasons opener....
