Clements Pond hike (Garmin)

Hike-a-palooza Day 2. A gentle stroll on my own to tranquil Clements Pond on Sunday. Clearing weather, so good views from the little crag 500m above the cabin. Hiked a "lollipop", going out on trail starting from the ACC cabin, then back on the official trail to the public parking lot, finishing with 200m on Styles Brook Road. A bit muddy. Didn't meet another soul on the trail, so saw a few birds (including Spruce Grouse and Winter Wrens) at the pond. A big boulder shaped like a whale on the way (See waypoint "Whale"). On the way back a few good-sized white pines near the public trailhead. One about 2m diameter and 30m high (see waypoint "Big Pine").

    Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
