Ride with ETA organized by Chris McDonald. Linda Lafrance was supposed to be the sweeper but didn't stay at the back where I was!
This is an OAB (Out And Back) gravel ride from Chelsea to Wakefield (48 kms) or to the Farrellton Bridge (74kms)
Starting from the parking lot at: 490 Rte 105 in Chelsea beside the Montessori School.
Meeting time: 9:15 am for a departure at 9:30 sharp
Route: Out and back on the Voie Verte rail-to-trail and River Road
Surface: A mix of good gravel and pavement
Tires: Suggest a minimum of 32 mm (I used my hard tail MTB)
Distance(s): 48 kms to the Wakefield covered bridge;74 kms by going to the Farrellton Bridge.
Pace: Civilized and social (still fast)
Coffee: Coffee at the Wakefield Bakery which is across from the old Wakefield train station.
We cross over the Wakefield covered bridge which is always a highlight. The route is fairly flat. For those doing the longer option, coffee is at the 52 kms point;

I was one of about 5 who turned back; only one other stopped at the bakery with me (Kathy Munro who proved interesting to talk to about travels in S. America)
