MI17-16 Wallaceburg, ON to Yale, MI

Continuing in a mix of farm and resort area, fifteen miles into the ride I took a frequently-run $2 ferry ride to the US side (from Sombra CA to Marine City MI). Customs was easy and quick. On the Sombra side, a very interesting proprietor of a souvenir shop, who used to be a ferry pilot and who has swum the river. Michigan here was somewhat more populated than Ontario, but still mostly agricultural on up through Yale MI. Here I met the phenomenon of a large, drive-through, 24-hour convenience store in a town of a few thousand people, and found a good laundromat. Record setting lowest price motel was Sweet Dreams Motel, which was also the only motel, very bicyclist friendly.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
