Trek Farley 9.6. Mostly sunny, temps in the 60's, a bit damp and humid, didn't notice the wind. I saw no other riders while out, except near the end and not that many hikers per usual. Saw one deer. Trail conditions were pretty good, mostly damp and tacky dirt, with some mud sections at a few of the ravine bottoms. The fat bike has a tendency to improve the ruts with the much wider tires. Two trees down on the trails but easy to lift the bike over.
I met a fellow Dave from St Charles as I was packing up the car and he was unloading his MTB. I'm surprised I haven't seen him before, as apparently we ride the same trail systems. He also has a fat bike and does some road and gravel riding as well. Dave informed me that Atwood is now on Trailbot, so I have a proxy for Dixon conditions as they tend to mirror each other somewhat.
Good ride, besides the parkway singletrack, I did two full loops around the lower trails in Meadows Park, then up to Lowell Park for two laps around the Miller Trails. I took a wrong turn on the first loop but found a nice wide woodland trail that I probably shouldn't have been on. The woods look quite different all flushed with leaves, last time here was in March when everything was bare and open.
I stopped at the Hairy Cow in Byron for a quick lunch and picked up some crowlers of beer and seltzer for guest tonight.
