Continuation of the Mohawk Valley Metric Century. Scenic route along McKenzie View Drive then Hill Rd to the second rest stop at the Mohawk Store (mile 34.6). Several shallow rollers along this stretch. Started to notice the heat at this rest stop. The next 18-mile section covered Donna Rd to Marcola Rd, which goes through Mohawk then a right onto Wendling Rd. This 1.6 mile stretch goes to Paschelke Rd to the Earnest Covered Bridge, just before returning to Marcola Rd. The next 13 miles is on Marcola Rd. There is a very gradual incline for a few miles then a 2.9 mile hill just across the Linn County line. Again, not overly steep, but a lot of the climb was in the open sun. The climb was followed by a very long descent then a 3-mile flat stretch into Crawfordsville. The rest stop was at the general store on Highway 228 (mile 55.2). The final 8 mile stretch was on Northern Rd to Kirk Rd then back into Brownsville.
