"ATTITUDE IS A LITTLE THING THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE". (Winston Churchill) The attitude of the riders today was...this is gonna be hard, but let's get to it. 8,000' of climbing in 100 miles. Most of that climbing was in the last 40 miles as we entered the Talimena State Park and climbed to the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge where we are spending the night. This climbing was not gentle rollers, but rather similar to the long straight up chug of a roller coaster and then the fast down hill to the bottom and repeat the long slow chug up to the next top. Many of these chugs were 8-13 %. That went on for 40 miles. The park has oak, maple and pine trees lining the road. Some leaves are starting to change to fall colors, and I heard blue jays calling in the woods. Still no rain. Where we are spending the night is in the Ouachita National forest, located in Polk county. We are in Arkansas, just five miles east of the state line. Tomorrow we do a little more chugging up the hills in the morning and then descent to Arkadelphia, AR. Our accommodations at the lodge are very comfortable. To sleep, per chance to deam.

Impressive riding, Bill. Hang in there.
Rose Mary and I plan on driving our RV through Arkansas on our return to Tucson in Nov. Thanks for the pics. Looks like a lot of elevation gain today.
