MHCC: Tom & Jim Memorial Ride

Tom and Jim were avid cyclists and MHCC club members. Tom and his wife Anne were literally inseparable; they were TANDEM riders! Their bike ride across America was Tom’s response to his pancreatic cancer diagnosis and served to bring awareness to this dreaded disease (see the CBS6 newscast here about their ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiDKT3mx5oI (link is external).

As an active MHCC ride leader, Jim generously shared his love of cycling with many other club members via his Rensselaer and Columbia County rides. When his stomach cancer curtailed his bike riding, Jim dove into the up-and-coming sport of pickleball and reputedly was a force to be reckoned with on the East Greenbush YMCA courts. Join us to honor Jim and Tom by taking a beautiful ride designed by Anne Boehm in the county they so loved.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
