Today was one of those days that I just didn't want to get out of bed. Partially because I went to sleep last night late. I also did a good full body workout, and my legs were sore. From the beginning, my legs were a bit heavy. The winds were strong and it was warmer than the previous ride. I did slow tempo to the top of the descent. I got there in about 12 minutes which is very slow compared to other rides. The descent was more of the same stuff. Just cruised easy tempo to the bottom. The ascent was modest tempo, I picked it up a bit from the first half of the ride. I felt good for the most part, and most of the soreness was worked out from the warmup. My concentration was pretty good, and also balance. My only ailment was my right knee, which lasted 20 or 30 seconds, and my right hand going numb a few times. My bike worked perfect. I was able to install my new cassette and chain. Both of which seem to be in great working order. Other comments, there was an Amtrak train that was coming down the loop. The first time I remember seeing one. There was also this stake in the ground with a cow's skull hanging on it. No clue what the significance of that is?
Other notes, I bought a new pair of bibs and normal shorts. The bib will replace the lesser of the 3 that I have now. And I figured to get the normal shorts for the Spooktacular ride. The idea being, it'll be easier for nature breaks.
